Re: NP recording question

Dear Sylvan & C3,

As well as Splashcast, yesterday via Stephen Downes:

Mojiti allows you to access online videos from any number of sources, annotate them with scribbling or cartoon voice bubbles, and then post the resulting mash-up to a video site.

The addition of annotation is especially interesting & cartoon voice bubbles might complement in some way the ELP Reader cartoons Sylvan is working on.

Hi,

Yaji-san has communicated to me that there have been some problems using the recording equipment provided by ILC for making MP3 files of NP lectures.  Currently we record on both cassette audio tape and an MP3 machine borrowed from ILC.   As I understand it, Sylvan has suggested that we use an iPOD instead and plans to test this out on a borrowed iPOD next time.  The system now is that  MP3 files are posted on the ELP website for students to download and the cassette tapes are made available through ILC for students who want that format.

My question is whether there are any other ways we should consider making this kind of material available to students. For example, would it be better to stream the lectures rather than having students download them?  Would digital video recording (and streaming) be possible?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Bill
