C3 meeting notes from 10/19/07
We had a relatively short and partial meeting. Main outcomes:
Mark will revise the Survey Monkey survey on equipment, software and service purchase requests in order to have more specific categories and make it easier to compile the results. When it is ready, Bill will send out an email request to have teachers fill out the survey by the end of this month. We will plan to present the results at the first meeting in Winter term.
We discussed Bill's latest version of a C3 practices flowchart. In general it seems we are headed in a positive direction. We will probably need to start introducing and educating ELP staff on the use of some basic individual practices we want to encourage/require such as Google calendars, social book marking (Delicious) and Googledocs. At the same time we will need to do more research on how we can best design a portal or homepage site that will provide the best combination of both individual access to services and information, and archiving of all systems output. The term I used for this archiving, "Aggregator," may not be the best and we may not want a single archive, as I had indicated on my flow chart. Possible ways to create the integrated homepage (which would include whatever form of archiving we decide on) include the GoogleApps account we have set up, a Wordpress Blog or a Page Flakes or Netvibes site.
We will need to set up another meeting to continue discussion on these topics and questions. Bill will suggest a date.
