The apology: I am very sorry I will most likely not be able to attend the meeting on Friday. Hiroko and I rarely have business days when we are both off work, so we would like to use tomorrow and Friday to clear away a few jobs of long standing.
The invitation: I would like to try to put my plans in place at the top of the year for one paper and one presentation for 2008. I want to write something for the LRB tentatively on using social software to leverage 'networked work' at organisation level ( i.e. the ELP). And as this year's JALT 2008 conference will be held at the same site in Tokyo from Oct. 31 - Nov. 3, that would be an easy and well timed opportunity to present the paper. If you would like to write the LRB paper together and/or present at JALT together, or suggest an alternative plan, please let me know. JALT should call for submissions shortly.
