Re: Beginning directions for the C3 plan

Dear C3ers,

A quick first reaction to how to proceed with the 'how to' materials:

1) Strategy: Let's not rush to send out something by Friday.

2) Time: We have two working versions of 'how to' information, lite & full. I think the lite version is a little too light at present, but could certainly be ready in fairly short time. On the other hand the full version needs a few hours more.

3) Format: The lite version should be embedded in the full version', perhaps in a highlighted text box. This simplifies things to the extent that there is only one 'how to' document.

4) Usability: I think with one embedded in the other, this very usefully allow users to work with the lite version on tasks they can bring existing skills and understanding to. And on more unfamiliar tasks, users can swap to the full version. This means that the way of working with the materials is left up to the user, which is a nice outcome I think.

5) Success: As well, the full version contains background that some people may want to start building a context for the things we are asking them to do, e.g. what is a social network?

More than two yen?
