Ged and the Professional Development group have been working hard on setting up the ELP retreat for next Friday. The general plan for the day will include an all-morning session on assessment in the ELP and the afternoon will consist of a min-conference format. Ged's group solicited volunteers to provide sessions and he has gotten a number of responses, including some C3 related sessions proposed by me and Owen. After further clarification, it seems that Owen wanted to use part of this time for something more coherently put together by C3 in furtherance of our C3 plan.
At this point, I think the best we can do is coordinate three sessions that can be given by myself, Owen and Mark. Dave and Sylvan have already volunteered to do other sessions and that will be all that they will need to do. Ged will be very busy with the rest of the day's activities.
The schedule for the afternoon is to have three 50-minute time slots between 1:30 and 4:30 with 10 minute breaks between them. There will be 3 sessions per time slot. C3 (i.e. Bill, Mark and Owen) could offer three separate sessions and we could offer them twice in different time slots to allow as many people as possible to attend and still go to non-C3 sessions. I like the latter idea myself.
I think the general idea is to have the C3 presentations focus on helping people become more familiar and comfortable using the new tools -- Gdocs, Gmail, Firefox, Delicious, etc. I would be comfortable doing a session on the basics of Firefox, how to set up tabs, etc. plus using iGoogle to create a personal homepage. Owen and Ged, would you like to meet early next week to coordinate this together? Monday 4th might work...
Thanks,
Bill
