Re: What's next?

Thanks, Mark.  I like the idea of focusing on one area like this from the perspective of a new teacher.

Good questions, Bill.

While keeping in mind how to organize the whole ELP system, one short-term goal for us might be to focus on making C3 work really well in just one part of one course like ARW Autumn (IOR) and one beginnner (Audrey?).

I thought of that as I was trying to help Audrey get set up with materials for arwcpc. If a new instructor can easily and conveniently find the things she needs in the C3 system, and can understand how to use and contribute to it, we have a winner. All of the questions Bill listed will need to be solved to some extent.

However, just by opening up the current Delicious tags on Google Reader etc., I wonder if she can find what she needs. I have no problem navigating and finding great stuff on Reader, but it will be interesting to introduce her to it and see what she feels.

That type of focus on Audrey's needs might help us organize our discussion. Just a thought.

Hi,

First of all, thanks Mark for doing the notes from our Sept. 2 session and thanks to Owen for preparing that session.

Now, what do we want to do next?

Some options:
  • Continue discussion of how to phase in the C3 plan, e.g. the role of coordinators vs individual teachers.
  • Reschedule a time for us to learn how to set up blog/coursepages.
  • Work on document naming protocols.
  • Try to create an organizational structure for distributing information.  e.g. do we want separate blogs for ARW FALL or ARW IOR or ARW IOR PROG C or all of these?
  • Examine how blogs and googlegroups can best be used in combination.
Other ideas?

Thanks,

Bill
